Detailed description

Wet coffee drying system using a coffee husk furnace – A cost-effective, efficient, and environmentally friendly solution

The wet coffee drying system applies rotary drum drying technology, combined with a furnace using biomass fuel from coffee husks, to dry coffee beans from an initial moisture content of 38–40% to 12–14% – meeting the standards for subsequent storage and processing.

Outstanding technical specifications:

  • Type of dryer: Rotary drum

  • Capacity: 17–21 m³/batch

  • Drum rotation speed: 3–5 rpm

  • Drying temperature: 65–85°C (depending on the stage)

  • Drying time: 30–32 hours

  • Input moisture content: 38–40%

  • Product moisture content: 12–14%

Indirect heat furnace:
The furnace uses coffee husks as fuel, generating clean hot air to provide stable and continuous heat to the drying chamber.

  • Combustion chamber temperature: 600–750°C

  • Drying agent temperature: 65–85°C

The system not only ensures uniform drying quality, preserving the natural flavor of the coffee, but also contributes to reducing fuel costs and emissions, aiming for sustainable and environmentally friendly production.
