THACO inaugurates 50,000-ton berth at Chu Lai International Port along with a series of factories

On February 3, Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (THACO) held a New Year opening ceremony for the Year of the Snake 2025, inaugurated the 50,000-ton berth, a series of factories, and exported the first shipments of the year.

Port expansion and upgrade worth VND 1,590 billion
Chu Lai International Port is a Class I seaport under the master plan for the development of Vietnam’s seaport system for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister.
With the goal of becoming a trade hub and an important logistics center of the Central Highlands, connecting Southern Laos and Northern Cambodia, in 2024, the People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province issued a decision approving the investment policy and investor for the expansion and upgrade project of Chu Lai Port (under Tam Hiep Port area) with a total investment of VND 1,590 billion.
The Vietnam Maritime Administration issued a decision announcing the opening of berth No. 2 at Chu Lai Port under Chu Lai International Seaport Company to receive domestic and international ships for cargo loading and unloading.

The inauguration of the 50,000-ton berth marks a new development step for Truong Hai International Freight Forwarding Company (THILOGI) in general, and Chu Lai Port in particular, affirming the brand of Vietnam's logistics industry.
Affirming THACO’s commitment to investing in the development of a multi-industry industrial group, this is also a commitment to investors and customers in expanding scale, meeting the increasing import-export demand, aiming to enhance convenience, advantages, and competitiveness for businesses, and attracting investors to Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
On the first working day of the year, more than 300 containers of goods from THACO member corporations were exported through Chu Lai Port to international markets.
Among them, THACO AUTO exported 120 Kia Frontier trucks to the Middle East and 400 colored painted Kia New Carnival body kits to India.

In 2025, THACO INDUSTRIES exported 2,800 semi-trailers to the North American market, 1.4 million auto parts to Asia, 50,000 household equipment products to North America, 40,000 industrial equipment parts to Australia, and 9,000 sets of industrial equipment to Europe. Meanwhile, THACO AGRI exported nearly 4,000 tons of fresh fruit to Japan and China.
A series of factories and centers inaugurated
On the same day, THACO inaugurated auto parts manufacturing plants and the THACO INDUSTRIES R&D Center.
The THACO INDUSTRIES R&D Center is built on 30,000 m², including a design center, material testing and product testing center, and sample production workshop with a total investment of nearly USD 40 million.

The auto body frame parts factory is built on 15,000 m², with a total investment of USD 30 million.
The high-end automotive glass factory is 15,000 m², with a total investment of USD 25 million, including a passenger car glass production line with a capacity of 300,000 units/year, and a truck and bus glass line with a capacity of 150,000 units/year.
The auto electrical equipment factory spans 20,000 m² with a total investment of USD 20 million, with a capacity of 150,000 wiring harness sets, 50,000 sets of components, and electronic devices for passenger cars per year.
The operation of these auto parts factories contributes to forming a regional-scale auto parts manufacturing center.
Together with the new R&D Center and mechanical engineering center, THACO INDUSTRIES affirms its pioneering role in developing the mechanical engineering and supporting industry sectors in Vietnam, deeply participating in the global value chain.
Additionally, THACO also inaugurated a new production line at THACO Bus plant and introduced a new line-up of THACO Truck and THACO Bus products.
