USER MANUAL
1. How to clean
Step 1: Soak the swiftlet nest in clean water for 8 hours to soften it.
Step 2: After the swiftlet nest softens, discard the soaking water. Proceed to separate the swiftlet nest's belly part and the strands.
Step 3: Clean the swiftlet nest's belly part
Place the swiftlet nest's belly part in a small basin of water to allow the feathers to float up, then remove the feathers. After that, use a sieve to remove the swiftlet nest's belly part, wring it dry, place it on a white plate, and begin to pick out any remaining feathers.
Step 4: Clean the swiftlet nest strands
Place the swiftlet nest strands in a small basin of water and pick out the feathers in the water so they float up, then remove the floating feathers. Repeat until the swiftlet nest strands are clean of feathers.
2. How to stew swiftlet nest:
Step 1: Rinse the swiftlet nest thoroughly with clean water, wring it dry to drain.
Step 2: Place the cleaned swiftlet nest into a ceramic or glass bowl, add 1.5 times the amount of water. For example, for 10g of cleaned fresh swiftlet nest, add 25ml of water.
Step 3: Add desired stewing ingredients such as: red dates, goji berries, chia seeds, ginger… Then cover and steam Bain-marie for 20 to 30 minutes. Do not stew for too long as it may lose nutrients.
Step 4: Observe when the swiftlet nest is cooked, tiny bubbles will appear, similar to steam. Turn off the heat and let it cool.
