What is Bao Thanh Cough Syrup?

Bao Thanh Cough Syrup is a product of Hoa Linh Pharmaceutical Company. Its main ingredients include the extract of Platycodon grandiflorum and liquid extract of a mixture of natural herbs such as: Ficus erecta, Prunus mume, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Adenophora stricta, Poria cocos, Platycodon grandiflorum, Honey,.... The product is used to reduce coughs caused by colds, chills, wind-related coughs, dry coughs, coughs with phlegm, and coughs due to seasonal allergies. It's also for people with phế âm hư (lung yin deficiency) causing persistent coughs, dry mouth and throat, throat itching, burning sensation, and hoarseness. It supports the treatment of pneumonia, pharyngitis, and bronchitis.

Composition: Per 5ml

• Platycodon grandiflorum – 0.2g

• Ficus erecta – 0.5g

• Adenophora stricta – 0.1g

• Poria cocos – 0.1g

• Citrus reticulata – 0.1g

• Platycodon grandiflorum – 0.4g

• Pinellia ternata – 0.1g

• Schisandra chinensis – 0.05g

• Trichosanthes kirilowii – 0.2g

• Atractylodes macrocephala – 0.1g

• Prunus armeniaca – 0.2g

• Zingiber officinale – 0.1g

• Prunus mume – 0.5g

• Ophiopogon japonicus – 0.1g

• Asparagus cochinchinensis – 0.05g

• Glycyrrhiza uralensis – 0.1g

• Peppermint oil – 1.1mg

• Honey – 1.0g

Excipients: Benzoic acid, white sugar, Ethanol 96°, purified water to 5ml.

Dosage form: Syrup, brownish-yellow liquid, refreshing aroma, slightly bitter sweet taste.

Effects

Expectorant, cough suppressant, phlegm-reducing (Lung nourishing, cough relieving, phlegm-reducing)

Indications:

– Coughs due to colds, chills, wind-related coughs, dry coughs, coughs with phlegm, and coughs due to seasonal allergies.
– People with phế âm hư (lung yin deficiency) causing persistent coughs, dry mouth and throat, throat itching, burning sensation, and hoarseness.
– Supports the treatment of pneumonia, pharyngitis, and bronchitis.

Dosage and administration: 3 times a day

· Children from 30 months to 3 years old: 5ml per dose (1 teaspoon)
· Children over 3 years old: 10ml per dose (2 teaspoons)
· People over 15 years old: 15ml per dose (1 tablespoon)
*To make it easier to drink and for quicker effect, dilute the syrup with warm water or swallow slowly.

Contraindications: Do not use in individuals hypersensitive to any component of the drug, children under 30 months of age, children with a history of epilepsy or seizures due to high fever.

Warnings and precautions: Use with caution in pregnant women.
Use in pregnant women and nursing mothers: There is no data on the effect of the drug components on pregnant and breastfeeding women. Use with caution in pregnant women, only consider if the benefit outweighs the risk.
