RS2 Steel Truss Frame

1. Introduction

The RS2 truss frame is an improved triangular or A-shaped roof truss system, fabricated from high-strength G550 – G600 steel, coated with AZ100–AZ150 zinc-aluminum alloy. The RS2 model is designed to withstand greater loads than RS1, suitable for townhouses, residential houses, and medium-to-large roof structures.

2. Structure

• Main Rafter (Top chord – Bottom chord): AZ100–AZ150 coated C-section or box steel, common size C100×50×1.5mm.

• Diagonal Braces (Web members): Small C-section or coated box steel 1.0–1.5mm.

• Auxiliary Braces (stiffening braces): arranged between rafters to increase load-bearing capacity for heavy tile or metal roofs.

• Secondary purlins: Omega or C75 steel, spacing 0.8–1.0m.

• Connections: self-drilling screws or high-strength bolts, no on-site welding.

• Roofing material: color-coated metal sheets, insulated metal sheets, cement tiles or clay tiles.

3. Reference Technical Specifications

• Roof span: 6 – 12m (can be extended depending on design).

• Truss height (rise): 1/5 – 1/6 of the span.

• Roof slope: 15° – 30°.

• Design load: ≥ 60kg/m² (suitable for heavy tile roofs).

• Steel strength: G550 – G600 (ASTM A572, JIS G3302).

• Surface finish: rust-resistant AZ100–AZ150 zinc-aluminum alloy coating.
