SS Steel Frame Structure

1. Introduction

SS steel frame structures are welded composite steel structures that serve as the primary load-bearing element in pre-engineered steel buildings. They are designed using triangular trusses, space trusses, or A-frame combinations. This type of frame is suitable for industrial buildings, warehouses, large factories, stadiums, and shopping centers.

2. Structure

• Main Rafters (Top chord – Bottom chord): I-beams, H-beams, or welded composite steel plates.

• Diagonal Braces (Web members): D42–D60 pipes, 50×50×2.0 square tubes, or small C-sections.

• Purlins: Z100–Z200 steel, spacing 1.2–1.5m.

• Connections: high-strength bolts M16 – M24 (TCVN 1916, ASTM A325).

• Roofing: galvanized steel sheets, PU insulated steel sheets, or EPS/rockwool panels.

3. Reference Technical Specifications

• Roof Span: 12 – 60m.

• Rafter Height (rise): 1/6 – 1/8 of the span.

• Design Load: 30 – 60kg/m² (depending on roof and wind).

• Steel Strength: ≥ 345 – 550 Mpa (Q345B, SS400, ASTM A36, A572).

• Surface Finish: 2 coats of anti-rust paint or hot-dip galvanization.
