Detailed description
Plywood
Plywood (also known as glued wood) is a type of engineered wood made from multiple layers of natural wood veneer. These layers are stacked and bonded together under high pressure and heat using Phenol or Formaldehyde adhesive. The layers are typically pressed together under high pressure with specialized glue, creating a highly durable wood panel.
The characteristic layered structure and the arrangement of wood layers perpendicular to each other create a material with high strength, good load-bearing capacity, and effective resistance to warping.
With a variety of sizes, thicknesses, and bending capabilities, plywood is widely used in construction and interior design, ranging from formwork, flooring, and kitchen cabinets to creative interior designs. In addition, the sustainability and long lifespan of plywood also contribute to increased product value and environmental protection.
Technical Information
Panel density: 480–600kg/m³
Standard panel size: 1220 x 2440 mm
Thickness range: 5–18mm
Advantages
Multi-layered structure and wood grain arrangement give plywood good load-bearing capacity and reduce warping.
Lightweight, convenient for construction and installation.
Variety of designs, thicknesses, and sizes, suitable for many different applications.
High-grade plywood, when pressed with waterproof glue, can withstand humid environments.
Disadvantages
Complex manufacturing process makes the cost of plywood often higher than some other types of engineered wood.
High hardness, cutting and processing plywood requires specialized tools.
